The committee's topics are:

  1. Evaluation of health effects of non-ionizing radiation taking into account physical characteristics, possible interaction mechanisms, especially of ultraviolet radiation, radio waves and microwaves, low-frequency electric and magnetic fields, static fields, ultrasound and infrasound, and laser radiation
  2. Recommendations on the protection from health effects due to non-ionizing radiation
  3. Recommendation on the protection of the population from UV radiation (sun, sunbeds, medicine)
  4. Recommendations on the protection from electromagnetic fields in the environment
  5. Evaluation of the application of non-ionizing radiation in the medical field in cooperation with the committee on “Radiological Protection in Medicine”
  6. Evaluation of epidemiological studies on the application of non-ionizing radiation in cooperation with the committee on “Radiation Risk”
  7. Statements and recommendations on the national implementation of international directives and recommendations (e. g. ICNIRP, WHO, and European committees such as SCENIHR).
