Membership in the SSK is an honorary personal office. The members are independent and not bound by directive. The Commission on Radiological Protection usually consists of 14 members with special experience in one of the following fields:

Radiation medicine, Radioecology, Radiation biology, Radiation risk, Radiation protection technology, Emergency management, Non-ionizing radiation.
